Introduction
Essay on APJ Abdul Kalam – Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam was born on 15 October 1931 in Dhanush Koti village of Rameswaram district in Tamil Nadu.His full name is Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam.His life was very simple. Dr. Abdul Kalam was a very humble and tolerant person by nature. He believed in working at a fast pace.
APJ Abdul Kalam is the 11th President of Indian History. He was known as Missile Man of India in the hearts of the Indian people. He was born into a poor family. His father’s name was Jainulabdeen who was the owner of a boat and imam in a local mosque. His mother’s name was Ashiamma Jainulabdeen who was a housewife.
Education
Dr. Kalam has completed his education at Mandapam Panchayat Union Middle School, Schwartz Higher Secondary school and St. Joseph’s College, and the University of Madras.
After which he started his career as a scientist in DRDO in 1958.Dr. Kalam was a great scientist as well as a serious, thinker and good man. He has held various positions in ISRO and DRDO. In 1963, he joined the Indian Space Research Organization ISRO.
Achievement
He has always been known as the Missile Man in India because of his great contribution to the development of ballistic missiles in India. Dr. Kalam made his significant contribution in developing and training important missiles like Prithvi, Agni Akash, etc., and named India as a leader in the field of technology.
He was elevated to the post of President for making India a nation endowed with nuclear power and for his significant contribution in the field of science and research. He was a man who dreamed of making India a developed country.
He was the national leader of India who never had any stigma and people of every caste and religious community had a feeling of respect for him. Due to which Dr. Kalam was awarded the Padma Shri and the Padma Bhushan for his work. In 1997, he was awarded the Bharat Ratna, the greatest Indian award. He has written several important books like India Twenty20 and Wings of Fire.
He has been conferred honorary doctorates by more than 30 universities around the world. He worked as a professor in various universities and institutes in the country. Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam’s impressive personality and inspiring ideas always inspire the youth to move forward.
Conclusion
On the evening of 27 July 2015, he was giving a lecture at the Indian Institute of Management, Shillong. When he suffered a cardiac arrest and fell unconscious. He was taken to the ICU at a local hospital in critical condition at around 6:30 pm and his death was confirmed 2 hours later.
We have lost the great son of India who devoted his entire life to the welfare of his motherland that his life and work proved to be an inspiration to millions of people around the world. The life of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam is a history that will always be an inspirational story for all the youth.
